progress so far and a brief introduction

Ok i can to this site as i guess a lot of people do late one night when i was bored and the tv was crap. so i signed up. i am also on a couple of other sites. i have absolutely no expectation of getting anything meaningful out of it i am rather treating it as a hobby.
i am working on the fact that at 57 most people will think i am past it. im not by the way.
